Description

The Iris Nebula, 1300 light‐years away, is a bright reflection nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The nebula is a molecular cloud which is constantly forming stars, and is lit by a magnitude +7 star, SAO 19158, giving blue color to the nebula. In the future, high mass stars formed in the nebula will ionize it and turn it into a color of bright red.
