Description

In the northern hemisphere, the Milky Way - our home galaxy - crosses the sky from horizon to horizon in the summer months. One the richest starfields is in the constellation Scutum (the Shield). Just below centre and a little to the right is M11, a tight open cluster of stars also called the "Wild Duck" cluster.
