Description

This is the second image I acquired during the October 28th session. This one was harder to process and there are still "ghost" images of some craters remaining. Not as pleasant to look at as my 1st one but interesting as in 1971 the crewed Apollo 15 mission landed there, in the southeastern region of Mare Imbrium, near the Apennine Mountains.

Mare Imbrium (Latin for "Sea of Showers" or "Sea of Rains"), is a vast lunar mare filling a basin on Earth's Moon. One of the larger craters in the Solar System, Mare Imbrium was created when lava flooded the giant crater formed when a very large object hit the Moon long ago. Estimates of its age range from 3 billion to 4.5 billion years.
