Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) and a very slight Horsehead Nebula (Barnard 33/IC 434)

Description

Flame Nebula (NGC 2024) and a very slight Horsehead Nebula (Barnard 33/IC 434) - No telescope.

Pretty cool... I was framed up and shooting primarily for the Flame Nebula for the first time, just to see what kind of photons I'd be able to grab with my stock 55-250mm. After I stacked the images, I noticed that I had also grabbed a very faint blob to the lower right of the Flame. Being a rookie, I didn't even know that the Horsehead was located in Orion, so at first I had no idea what it was. Then I looked a little closer and saw the tell-tale black figure, and was quite surprised. I tried to bring it out a little more in processing, but the signal is so faint that anything I did to it just ruined the little bit that I had actually captured. Man, I really can't wait until I get that APO refractor. I'm gonna start all over again on these targets.
