Description

First test image from Deep Sky West Remote Observatory (DSW) on Rowe Mesa, New Mexico (7,200 feet). SQM: 21.59; average seeing and transparency.

For this test image I used an FSQ106 in need of collimation (long story). The real test was to exercise the remote connectivity and control at the new site.

Everything worked as planned and virtually unattended (the resident stayed about 200 yards away in his house, but watched on the surveillance cameras intently!) I operated the system via TeamViewer from a hotel room in Nashville. Image acquisition and facility management by M1OASYS, SkyAlert, SkyEye, Unihedron, CCDAP, Maxim DL, FocusMax and TSX.

This short test run resulted in the image on display. Just need to swap out the scope on my next visit. Will acquire and add additional data to this image as testing continues.

Shortly will have test images from the 14.5" CDK....just in time for galaxy season. Stay tuned.
