Description

Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex with POSS-II data added
Full Res: https://flic.kr/p/rBoBSF
This is a blend of POSS-II data and 3hrs of my own taken on 4/19/2015. The Palomar Observatory Sky Survey II (POSS-II for short) was conducted during the 1980's and 1990's using Palomar Observatory's 48in Oschin Schmidt Telescope and three different chemical films for the exposures, Red, Blue, and Near Infrared. The images from POSS-II are available to the public through these sources:
STScI: https://archive.stsci.edu/cgi-bin/dss_form
ESO: http://archive.eso.org/dss/dss
