Description

3 hours 12 min FD timelapse of the Sun in H-Alpha on 6th of March 2023.

Time-lapse animation created from 372 recordings between 10:30 and 13:42UT on March 6th 2023. Each recording was 25 seconds long with a framerate of 30fps (750 frames) and 5 seconds delay between each recording.

The recordings where obtained using a Coronado SolarMax 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ZWO ASI 178mm. Everything was mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest mount.

The best 100 frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!3 before they were aligned, sharpened and contrast-stretched in ImPPG.

The final animation was created in PIPP at 15fps effectively compressing the 3 hours 12 minutes of duration down to just 24 seconds.
