Description

This is my latest and most successful attempt at imaging the Leo Triplet.

The Luminance frames for this image were shot from my backyard in Clovis, California using my QSI 683wsg-8 camera and Explore Scientific 102 ED telescope. The RGB frames were actually shot in 2013 from Eastman Lake using my Canon 60D and the Orion 8" Astrograph Newtonian. I acquired really pleasing color data in 2013 so I decided to use it instead of capturing new data from my backyard.

I'm really happy with the combined result.
