Description

NGC 3261 is a distant spiral galaxy in Vela. It is another one of those Arp and Madore peculiar galaxies, this one classified in Category 1d (designated AM 1026-442). This category comprises galaxies where there is evidence of a subtle interaction with a smaller galaxy that is close by. It is quite distant at 100 million light years and a challenge to capture. However, i used the longer focal length of my celestron c9.25 edge and was pleased to have captured some good detail.
