Description

An emission nebula up in the high-flying constellation of Cygnus, the swan, it lies 3,300 lightyears from us. It also includes a dark nebula - you can see the molecular dust veins in the nebula, as well as the lack of stars directly surrounding it (background stars are obscured by the dust). It is about 15 lightyears across.

Description: Re-edit of the original data - started with a 32-bit TIFF saved out of DeepSkyStacker without any DSS changes applied to it. Stretching the histogram in Photoshop and working from there seems to prevent a lot of the noise from creeping to the surface. Happier with the result! Now I just need to image this again somewhere darker...
