The Seagull Nebula is a H II region with more than 3 degree extent and lies in the constellation of the Monocerus at an estimated distance of 3800 light years with magnitude 15.2. This is an interesting target for either narrow or a broadband imaging. This image was captured with a Ha Hb OIII filter and includes 48 images with 30s or 24min total exposition time. Some beautiful open clusters like NGC 2335 (1417parcec), NGC 2343 and a nebula in constellation of Canis Major in the NGC 2327 also can be seen in this image.As a curiosity, IC or Index Catalog is a list of objects, including galaxies, nebulae and star clusters, discovered between 1888 and 1907 through astrophotography.

A Nebulosa da Gaivota é uma região H II com mais de 3 graus de extensão e encontra-se na constelação do Monocerus a uma distância estimada de 3800 anos-luz com magnitude 15,2. Este é um alvo interessante para imagens de banda larga ou com filtros de banda estreita. Esta imagem foi captada simultaneamente com filtros Ha Hb OIII e é composta de 48 imagens de 30 segundos de exposição totalizando 24min. Alguns belos aglomerados abertos como NGC 2335 (1417 parcec), NGC 2343 e uma nebulosa na constelação de Cão Maior na NGC 2327 também podem ser vistos nesta imagem. Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.

If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
