Description

Captured February 2013

 LRGB with 314L+ & ED80

56 subs Luminance of 180s 3m bin 1x1 + 14 subs each RGB of 120s 2m bin 2x2 + 8 subs of various length adding up to about an hour bin 1x1.
Ha added 70% red and 25% blue.

Processed in Registar and Photoshop CS5.

This was the processing I used :-
Stack Red subs in DSS and stretch a bit in PS - save in Align folder
Stack Green subs in DSS and stretch a bit in PS - save in Align folder
Stack Blue subs in DSS and stretch a bit in PS - save in Align folder
Stack Lum subs in DSS and stretch histogram and sharpen in PS - save in Align folder
Stack Ha subs in DSS and stretch histogram and sharpen in PS - save in Align folder
Run Registar, select Lum for reference image and register all the others to it.
Shift and pad registered images in RegiStar and save all into new folder
Gaussian Blur Red, Green and Blue images
Take Red image as base and add Ha as normal layer - set opacity to 70% - flatten and save
Take Blue image as base and add Ha as normal layer - set opacity to 25% - flatten and save
Take new Red as base and changs Mode to RGB
Select all in Green image and replace Green channel in colour image
Select all in Blue image and replace Blue channel in colour image
Adjust various stuff in PS to improve final image and save.

Further processing :-
Stacked all the decent Ha frames - 14 altogether - stretched in PS and aligned with all the rest in RegiStar
then L R G B Ha image files opened in PS.
Converted the Ha greyscale to RGB colour.
In Channels removed the green and toned down the blue (left a bit to represent Hb). Saved that.
Then back to the main colour M81/82, saved a backup then flattened the image (RGB layer and Luminosity layer) and added the Ha as a new layer in Lighten mode. Went into curves in the Ha layer and stretched to improve the Ha. Backed that up and then flattened, cropped off the margins and saved as PNG.
