Description

C/2022 E3 (ZTF)

Taken 27 January 2023 at the OKCAC’s Cheddar Ranch Observatory. Half moon, temp 35F, humidity 69%, clear. Winds 15-20mph, partially blocked by the club building and my truck.

This was a 40 min session with my Vaonis Stellina. 240 10 sec frames, auto stacked. No post processing.

Some of what looks like the tail is actually the comet moving through the frames. But I think it gives it a nice effect.

The Stellina does not have comets or asteroids in it’s catalog, so I got the RA and Dec from Sky Safari and entered them manually. I was disappointed the comet wasn’t centered, but I don’t know how to adjust that yet with Stellina.
