Description

I have a special fascination for dark nebulae, often referred to as Barnard Nebulae. They often appear on a rich background of stars.
This intriguing dust cloud, in Cepheus, lies in a part of the molecular cloud of the Milky Way.
The Seahorse Nebula, B 150, belongs to the magnificent catalogue of 352 dark nebulae established by Edward Emerson Barnard.
It was first published in 1927, four years after Barnard's death, under the title: A Photographic Atlas of Selected Regions of the Milky Way.
A new book will be published in August 2023: The Barnard Objects: Then and Now (Springer, 2023).
