Description

While driving from Rooisand to the west we could observe how the landscape changes from savanna with rock formations to almost flat surfaces with minimal vegetation going far away to the horizon and finally ending up with sand dunes of Namib desert. Just before the junction on the road to Solitaire or Walvis Bay we made an off-road and drove around 10km to the fields. Next to the small house on the hill we found a point where almost 360 degrees panoramic view evolves. It was our spot for the night shooting. I started to photograph this panorama when the Milky Way was approaching the horizon line leaving its final touch on the sky. It turned into a tiny stripe of light where I couldn’t distinguish the details anymore as it was about to set shortly. On the other side the Orion with winter Milky Way arch were getting higher and higher. The whole night was a great adventure in the middle of nowhere watching how the sky is changing all the time.
