Description

Time-lapse animation created from 682 recordings between 06:59 and 10:51UT on April 4th 2023. Each recording was 15 seconds long with a framerate of 60 (900 frames) and 5 seconds delay between each recording.

The recordings where obtained using a Coronado SolarMax 60mm/BF15 w/Beloptik ITF, stopped down to 50mm, Baader 35nm H-Alpha and ZWO ASI 178mm. Everything was mounted on a SkyWatcher SolarQuest Alt-Az mount.

The best 100 frames from each recording was stacked in AutoStakkert!3 before they were aligned and sharpened in ImPPG. The solar disk was then made black and the image was contrast stretched in PhotoShop.

The frames where then scaled down to ~67% and the animation was created in PIPP at 15fps effectively compressing the 3 hours 52 minutes of duration down to just 45 seconds.
