Description

This is a reprocess of an older image, focused on vdB 9.

vdB is a reflection nebula located 1400 light years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia at a declination of +69 degrees.   It is about 3 light years wide and is illuminated by the bright star at its center, HD 17463 (SU Cass). I find the structure of this reflection nebula to be interesting.

The dark nebula on the left side of the image is LDN 1358. The two dark nebula on the right side, close together, are LDN 1355 (larger) and LDN 1357 (smaller).
