Description

The intermediate galaxy NGC 4051 in UMa belongs to the Seyfert class of galaxies. These galaxies contain supermassive black holes and emit bright X-rays. NGC 4051 is an interesting galaxy that has produced 3 supernovae in the last 20 years, it is also quite a pretty galaxy. Surprisingly, there are only a few images here on Astrobin.

6.5 h luminance and 6 h RGB were captured late March/early April 2023. I also captured 2 h of Ha which clearly showed numerous Ha regions but they did not add much detail to the final image so I didn't use this data.

Conditions were mediocre on all of the 3 nights, and I had to eliminate quite a number of frames due to high clouds and bad transparency, nevertheless I must say that I am quite pleased with the outcome. Hope you think the same....
