Description

It is my first image with QHY 268M pro and Astronomik filters. QHY is fine camera, but Astronomik LRGB filters are short of awful. Narrowband filters are OKish.

IC434 RGB was used for annotation and captured during about 70 min.  Main image is HSO and has combined HSO SNR of 148.
Panel A: HSO reddish
Panel B: HSO yellowish
Panel C: RGB annotation

Processing:
RGB are combined.
Cropping for Ha, O3, S2 and RGB
DBE for S2 and O3 and RGB. This step is critical to avoid subtracting nebulosity. Hence, this step was not applied for Ha.
Color Colib for RGB
Blur and Noise XT for Ha, O3, S2 and RGB
Star XT for RGB8 as well as Ha, O3, and S2. RGB stars were kept.

Manual stretching (with HT) for Ha, O3, S2, RGB (no stars), and RGB-stars.

1. Processing (panels C)
RGB no stars were masked by Lum.
Local Histogram Equalization: Kernel radius of 40 and 150
Multiscale-median transform for sharpness; strong 0.4-0.5 setting.
Curves: brightness is manipulated
Mask off.
Added saturated RGB stars.
Annotation

1. Processing (panel A and B)
Combined HSO as R-G-B
Noise XT
Stretched again.
Played with Hue-Saturation until final image. I almost always use this approach for narrow-band images.
Lum for HSO was used as mask.
Local Histogram Equalization: Kernel radius of 40, 150 and then 300 (histogram resolution is 10-bit!)
Multiscale-median transform for sharpness; strong 0.4 setting.
Curves: saturation and brightness are manipulated
Blue and red were separately manipulating using "blue mask" and "red mask" scripts.
Mask off.
Added RGB stars.
Rotated 90-degree CCW image.
Done

Title: Total re-processing

Description: Re-processing:
1. Heavy background was removed by GraXpert and then DBE, since DBE alone could not do it.
2. Massive halos around stars, especially Alnitak, which were produced by Astronomik Green and Red filters, were removed.
3. These two critical points substantially increased SNR
