UPDATE..............

Some bright stars using the Takahashi FSQ85-EDX can create the so-called inverted lighthouse or hourglass effect.  I discussed this with Adam Block and he demonstrated a way to fix this.  So, I fixed the star Tejat Posterior (Mu Geminorum) using a new clone stamp approach.

This is a continuation of an Ha-only image of this region I recently captured (here).  I was able to gather a few hours of OIII and even some RGB for the stars despite the moonglow.

The most notable structures being the so-called Monkey Head and Jellyfish Nebulae which many have imaged.  The Monkey Head Nebula (Sh2-252) is a HII mission nebula located in the constellation Orion and is associated with the open star cluster NGC 2175. It is thought to be located about 6,400 light-years away from Earth. Sh2-247 is a round diffuse nebula, which according to one study, contains 37 thousand solar masses of gas and dust at a distance of 2200 pc, and appears to be physically connected through CO filaments with Sh 2-252.  Thus, it may not be out on an island as it appears to be in the image.  The Jellyfish Nebula (Sh2-248) is a galactic supernova remnant in the constellation Gemini.  Its distance is roughly 5,000 light years from Earth.
