Les nébuleuses de l'Amérique du Nord (NGC 7000) et du Pélican (IC 5070) font partie des nébuleuses vedettes des astrophotographes estivaux de l'hémisphère nord. J'ai tenté une version SHO sous le ciel sans pollution lumineuse des Alpes-de-Haute-Provence dans le sud de la France. Ces nébuleuses par émission, présentées à environ 1 800 années-lumière, sont de véritables pouponnières d'étoiles sur leur pourtour et dans les parties obscures centrales, requises, en avant de ces nébuleuses, donnent les formes originales conjointes d'un continent et d' ''un oiseau pêcheur...

Grâce à l'enseignement de Matthieu TEQUI et également les excellents tutoriels de Jean-Baptiste AUROUX sur YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@photonmillenium), j'ai effectué minutieusement le traitement SHO. Ce type de traitement offre la possibilité d'exprimer sa sensibilité selon la palette de couleurs choisie. Ces nébuleuses sont une véritable invitation à la peinture !

The North America (NGC 7000) and Pelican (IC 5070) Nebulae are among the star nebulae for summer astrophotographers in the Northern Hemisphere. I tried a SHO version under the sky without light pollution of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in the south of France. These emission nebulae, located about 1,800 light-years away, are veritable nurseries of stars on their periphery and in the dark central parts, which, ahead of these nebulae, give the joint original shapes of a continent and a fishing bird...

Thanks to the teaching of Matthieu TEQUI and also the excellent tutorials of Jean-Baptiste AUROUX on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@photonmillenium), I carried out the SHO treatment meticulously. This type of treatment offers the possibility of expressing one's sensitivity according to the chosen color palette. These nebulae are a real invitation to paint!

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
