Description

This is SH2-114, the Flying Dragon nebula in Cygnus. It is quite large and very faint, making it challenging to image. It's a complex and unusual HII emission nebula. Its complex, wispy structure is likely the result of winds from hot, massive stars interacting with the magnetic fields in the interstellar medium. But very little is known about it. I first captured in in Ha and planned to add that on this RGB image but after capturing this one with the dual band L-enhance filter I didn't think that the Ha data, which was shot under poor seeing conditions, would add much. Also there appeared to be no OIII in this area at all.  C11 with Hyperstar, ASI294MC Pro with L-enhance filter. 17 lights of 420 secs, 20 darks, 30 flats and 30 bias. Processed in Pixinsight, Lightroom and Photoshop.
