Description

Ced 122 is commonly defined as an HII region  but it is rather faint. Both visually and in astroimaging it appears as a huge patch of stars in the Sagittarius arm of our MilkyWay galaxy. The giant star m centauri is roughly located at 257 ly away from the earth.
