Imaged Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks on the night of March 3, 2024. This is the best image of the tail I've managed to capture to date. The comet is getting really low in my sky at dusk leaving 30 minutes at most to capture between when it is dark enough to image and the comet drops into the treeline... The background is full of gradients given the imaging prior to astronomical darkness so these have been interesting to process....
Imaged with a William Optics GT81 at F4.7 (382 mm focal length) using Flat6A II field flattener/0.8x reducer, UVIRcut filter, and ZWO ASI 533MC Pro.
Total integration time of ~30 minutesr: 17 subs at Gain = 100 with an exposure time of 120 seconds.
