Description

Visual observation made on 9/16/2015 using 12" Skywatcher Dobsonian at Okie-Tex: Bright, large globular cluster. Gradually brightens towards the core.

Visual observation made on 9/9/2023 using 22" Obsession UC Dobsonian at Okie-Tex: M2 is large and bright. It concentrates towards the center and has a dense core. There is a large dim halo. Some stars resolved. No colors noted. 

Note: 175 LY in diameter. One of the richer and more compact GCs. It is elliptically shaped.

Distance: 55,454 LY
Type: Halo Globular
Position w.r.t. core of galaxy: Below the Milky Way on sun side of core. 
Any stars resolved: Yes
Undergoing Core Collapse: Yes
