Description

8-22-23. 9 minute total exposure time in 60 sec subs.  Comet C/2023 E1 (ATLAS). Stellarvue 140 f6.8, 6200MC. There seems to be a separate fragment near the nucleus and I wonder if it split off from the main nucleus but really have no idea. More likely it seems we are seeing the 14th magnitude galaxy UGC 211830.  I didn't think a 9 minute exposure in Bortle 6 would show a galaxy this faint, but perhaps that is what my "fragment" is.
