Description

Barnard's Loop , Sh 2-276, is a giant reflextion and emission nebula in the constellation of Orion. It is part of the giant Orion Molecular Cloud, which also includes the Horsehead Nebula and the Orion Nebula (M42) in the constellation of Orion. The nebula is arc-shaped with its center near the Orion Nebula. It is believed that the young stars of the Orion Nebula are also responsible for ionizing the gas in the Barnard Loop and making it glow.

This is a 4P mosaic shot of the Barnard's Loop area of Orion.
The f2 faster is tremendous as this image was only lightly enhanced by applying a simple mask.
Total exposure time was 3 hours overnight.
The contrast of the red and green colors in this area with the blue area around M78 is beautiful and I photograph this area every year.
