Description

Hello!

Here still lot of clouds, but on the 14th of April I had the possibility to have a look to the Moon and take also lot of frames!  The Moon was at roughly 40% of its illumination from the Sun and near its first quarter. It is a region in the south with respect Mare Nectaris and with respect so the group of three craters shooted last month near the first quarter (Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina).

Here we are in the Piccolomini crater's area (roughly with a diameter of 90 kms), till Zagut and Rabbi Levi craters, the latters located very near to the terminator line! I really like how the shadows of their east-edges are projected in their respective floors to the west.
Rothmann and Lindenau craters (located in the middle with respect Piccolomini and Zagut) are also visible and Lindenau E (in the further "Version with labels" some annotations have been also placed) is just with a diameter of 8 kms!
Stiborius crater's edge appears asymmetrical with a strong erosion so producing like a terracing also almost visible in the photo obtained!
Piccolomini is, with respect Zagut and Rabbi Levi, already in a less grazing light coming from the Sun and its central peak is dominant also with a very sharp projected shadow!

In the setup I combined a C8 Edge HD, together with a super luminos 2.5x barlow lens, and a IR pass filter (642).
Here other details and the video settings:

- age of the Moon, 6.4 days (~40% of illumination)
- 8129 frames with ASI120MM at 5:25 pm UT  (15% of the frames retained)
- ROI=1920x1080
- Gain=185 (30%)
- Shutter=12.96ms
- FPS (avg.)=77

For the stacking in Autostakker I retained 15% of the total frames acquired with FireCapture.
Then post processed with Registax, PixInsight and Photoshop.

Any comment is also always appreciated,
all the best!
Davide.
