NGC_772_LRGBcrop

Description

NGC 772, sometimes known as the Nautilus galaxy or the Fiddlehead galaxy. It's a spiral galaxy in the constellation Aries, and lies at a distance of approx 99M light years. Its spiral has been distorted by interaction with NGC 770, which sits just above it. There is also evidence of faint star streams being pulled out of the galaxy by the interaction.
