Description

1h 25min of integral Ha & SII exposure of the central part of Crux constellation - captured remotely using Telescope #4 (Nikkor 200mm f/2, FLI Microline 16200) system of ChileScope observatory, also known as VST - a Very Small Telescope)), over 2 separate observational session carried out on Aug 21 & 23, 2023.

The color mapping for the original revisions and revisions B and D: Ha, Ha, SII, SII to LRGB. Revisions E, F, G are using only Ha component based on 45min subset of integral exposure taken on Aug 21, 2023.

There is quite a collection of objects identifiable in the lower left corner of this frame, including but not limited to:

[1] Gum 43 / RCW 65 (HII region): http://galaxymap.org/cat/view/gum/43

[2] Gum 44 / RCW 66, 67 (HII regions): http://galaxymap.org/cat/view/gum/44

[3] RCW 68 (HII regions): http://galaxymap.org/cat/view/rcw/68

[4] Gum 45 / RCW 69 (Planetary nebula): http://galaxymap.org/cat/view/gum/45

"aCru Nebula X1" also featured on the image [5] obtained earlier with Chilescope T3 instrument is also visible here:

Two additional compact structures are identified here as:

[6] Part of BRAN 386 object group (including BRAN 386E HII region): https://simbad.cds.unistra.fr/simbad/sim-id?Ident=bran+386&NbIdent=1&Radius=2&Radius.unit=arcmin&submit=submit+id

[7] Part of BRAN 383 object group that seems to be a part of march large nebula labeled "Cru Nebula X4" for future reference: https://simbad.cds.unistra.fr/simbad/sim-id?Ident=bran+383&NbIdent=1&Radius=2&Radius.unit=arcmin&submit=submit+id
