Description

This is a new level for me, being my first attempt at quite a few new things:

- Off-axis guiding

- Motorizing the focuser and use of auto-focus

- Overall new layout of the rig and its wiring

- LRGB composition

Having finally acquired a complete set of filtered monochrome data, I am only just now starting to experiment with its processing.

Considering the integration time and my complete lack of experience, I am not hoping to get a clean result but rather trying different techniques, approaches, tools and tricks that I can find online.

My own thoughts about the results:

- the first version had an ugly color balance of the galaxy (too purple) and some colored noise in the background, although the stars seemed OK;

- the version B showed much better colors but somehow the stars came out overprocessed and look bad at full resolution; plus, obviously, the contrast isn't as nice, although I am not after perfectly black background — as long as it isn't noisy;

- I rolled the version B back in its processing history to the point where the stars were still normal and managed to improve contrast and detail, bringing the noise down. Now I am pretty happy with the result.

Please feel free to let me know what you think, including what you think could be done differently!
