Description

The Crescent Nebula is the shedded outer gas layer of a dying star that will eventually explode into a supernova. While the Crescent is the star of the show (no pun intended), also visible is the much smaller and fainter Soap Bubble Nebula. This planetary nebula was only recently discovered in 2007 by an amateur astrophotographer. Makes you wonder what else is out there waiting to be discovered.
