Description

NGC 3953 is a poster child of a (moderately) barred galaxy, of shape probably not unlike our own Milky Way. It is a member of the M109 galaxy group (another barred galaxy though with fewer but stronger spiral arms), a group that contains about 50 galaxies. Though still of considerable (apparent) size, not very many images of NGC 3953 can be found on astrobin (and in the web in general).

Data were taken on 2024 March 9,10,11 and 18.
