My wife and I live close to the sea in south Devon. We used to live in Lockerbie where the sky was dark so I bought a 12.5" Dobsonian and had a great time viewing the planets inc Mercury and lots of galaxies. When Covid reared its ugly head I started astrophotography to pass the time and as a substitute for work which was technical and scientific and I missed it and the people. I started with a Skywatcher 200mm Newtonian on a Skywatcher AZ EQ6 mount and later added a 130mm Newtonian for wider field. Much later I bought a 150mm f4 carbon fibre Newtonian but never managed to sort of odd shaped stars in the corners so returned it. I have added various bits like an MGEN3 for guiding and digital focussing and currently I am learning Pixinsight as I have been using DSS and Photoshop for processing but the onset of narrowband and both OSC and mono cameras has meant that I have been searching for better processing software.
