Geologist, Slovak national, resident in South America for over 30 years. Astronomy has been my lifetime passion since I was a teen. In the last 10 years, I got back to where my heart always was – planetary and solar photography and hopefully starting deep sky astrophotography again soon. Geology is about the planet Earth - the most precious object in the whole Universe, there isn't a better place for us than the Earth, there is no other place to go, it is the only home we have. Rather than colonizing Mars, we should save our Earth first. Through the geology, I have learned a lot about our planet, an amazing dynamic living planet. I'm a member of the Planetary Geology section of the Geological Society of America, another amazing discipline functioning as a bridge between geology and astronomy. I'm also a member of the American Astronomical Society and its Planetary Section, a fascinating source of new discoveries on other planets in our Solar system and particularly some moons of those planets. The universe is an unlimited source of surprises, creation, beauty, disasters, and death all happening in front of us all the time, it is a privilege to be part of it even for an insignificant fraction of time.
