Astronomy is a life-long interest - which grew into a hobby in the mid-90s, but I have only been able to get back into it in a more committed way in the last few years. I built an observatory and provided astronomy outreach and planetarium programs for students and teachers in the school district I worked for in Texas.
Trying to "catch up" in the area of astrophotography is a real challenge - all I have done in previous years was visual. Inexperienced - but hoping to learn all I can from this great community. Have limited, but growing knowledge of all of the factors inherent in DSO and solar system imaging such as guiding, filters, optics, all of the various software, processing, post processing, etc. I am now retired from public education and have moved to much darker skies (SQML 21-21.5) in northern Arkansas where I have built a permanent observatory (Eridanus) for both visual, outreach, and astro-imaging. Getting into EAA. I hope to provide educational astronomy programs for a variety of groups in the area.
