I have had an interest in astronomy since I was 13 years old when my grandfather bought me and my brothers a 3" Tasco reflector. We would spend our evenings under a much darker sky those days exploring everything we could in the night sky.

I have had an interest in astronomy since I was 13 years old when my grandfather bought me and my brothers a 3" Tasco reflector. We would spend our evenings under a much darker sky those days exploring everything we could in the night sky.
During high school I ground and polished an 8" mirror and finally had it coated after I had graduated college and was married. I got away from observing for a while after having children and got back into observational astronomy about 12 years ago when I bought an 8" Meade Dobsonian. The turning point was when I aimed my 35mm camera in the eyepiece in 2004 and recorded the transit of Venus.
Three years ago I purchased the Meade ETX-LS6 as well as the Meade DSI III and my AP obsession began! Now my main imaging setup is the Atlas EQ-G, the Astrotech 6" RC and an Orion ED80T with an Atik 314L+ mono camera. I continue to strive to improve my images and have a lot of people to thank that utilize Astrobin and frequent Cloudy Nights.
Boy, that has been 12 years ago! I sold most of my equipment and now focus solely on solar imaging and mainly animations of activity on the sun. Many folks don’t have the time to watch events that can take hours to happen and I like sharing events in time lapses that show the beautiful yet violent eruptions on our closest star.
