Description

As a primer for the one coming this is the 2017 total solar eclipse taken from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This photo was taken with a Nikon 300mm f2.8 lens and a Nikon 2x teleconverter TC-20EIII. The photo is a Lightroom HDR of multiple exposures at ISO 200, ranging from 1/4000 to 4s during the 2+ minutes of total eclipse. This was my first (and so far unique) eclipse.
I took 4X(1/4000s,1/2000s,1/1000s,1/500s,1/250s,1/125s,1/60s,1/30s,1/15s), 10x (1/4s), 5X(0.5s,1s,2s,4s). The focus and guiding were done manually. I had a black polymer solar filter on the lens.
Each exposures of the same duration were stacked then after  some slight alignment corrections I did an HDR of all the different exposures . Not perfect but I like the result.
Thank you for watching.
