Description

"It's done, the great act of creation.
The maker rests. The wheel's in motion
And will rotate upon its axle for
A hundred million years before
A single cog wears out."

Imre Madách: The Tragedy of Man (Scene 1; The Lord)
(translation of George Szirtes)

This is the Immaculate Heart Parish in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary. We managed to align Polaris with the top of the church for a brief startrail shoot. The careful observer will notice that the sky does not rotate exactly around Polaris, a detail we thought would not make too much of a difference for this super wide-angle image. But it is clearly visible! Made with Sony A7III, and the Sony FE 14mm f1.8 GM lens. Done at f2.8, ISO640, 120x30s exposures on 30-31 July 2022.
