Description

I imaged this area just over three years ago, soon after purchasing my first decent telescope. M81 and M82 are also my favorite galaxies to observe with my 8" dob - this is a fun region for me in general!

I wanted to spend enough time to bring out some IFN, and I also wanted to give galaxy HaRGB blending another try. Three cold nights later, and here we are . The FOV goal was to capture NGC 2976 and NGC 3077 in addition to the usual suspects. Always interesting to imagine the nature of interacting galaxies, especially when we can see a snapshot of what that interaction looks like. I was also pleasantly surprised at how Holmberg IX ended up looking.
