Another brief gap in the clouds, and opportunity to get a step closer to improving my Samyang 135mm f2 / Altair 183C combo. Nothing special about this image, and the stars are not that much better, in part because my focus was off. Revision C shows the tilt in ASTAP CCD inspector down to 19% (from 60%), mainly because my backspace is nearly landing focus at optimum position. I've since added a thin card shim, and have some 0.1-1mm metal shims on order, and hoping this is about right for a clear night forecast tonight. The L-Pro filter has done quite a nice job of bringing up the nebulosity without losing the reflections around AE Aurigae. The integration is too short to get good background, depth, and saturation. Still one step closer to getting the best from this setup. Revision B shows a rotated, scaled, and cropped field, combining data from an earlier session taken with my Pentax zoom lens. I have tried not to stretch this too hard.
