Well I have gone "Third Rig"
once i have got this going properly my productivity will go up ! Got to maximise use of the few clear skies we get here
This is a test run with my new TS-Optics CF-APO 130 mm f/7 FPL55 Triplet APO Refractor and ZWO ASI 2600 MM Pro
Very pleased with both !
No calibration frames on this and it only 70 minutes of Ha data (this done without pier extension so guiding was good see below)
I have got two snagging issues with with the new set up
a) Scope keeps slipping in rings ... which minor annoyance which i can fix
b) The scope is too long for the mount (EQ6 R Pro) so can't go past 10 degrees near the zenith with out the camera hitting the tripod ... grrr
I ordered a pier extension for the mount and of course i got the movement issue , guiding was absolutely terrible
Having researched on you tube i have made some neoprene washers which have improved the situation but guiding still not as good as without the pier , so may need to go to next level of drilling holes etc
Anybody uses the pier extension with the EQ6 R Pro with success ? would be good to hear how you did it (it seems Skywatcher have produced a newer version that has it own "washer" but that not the one i got
