Description

Abell 39 is a low surface brightness planetary nebula in the constellation of Hercules. It has an apparent magnitude of +12 and is cca 6800 LY from Earth. The colour is due to excited oxygen atoms which emit light that appears teal. Formed as the central star outer atmosphere was expelled over thousands of years.

Unfortunately only 37 out of 52 subs gave a strong enough signal (clouds / haze in the others) but still came out clear.
