Description

Sh2-155, a beautiful hydrogen region in the constellation Cepheus.
I had a go at this target from my backyard last year. I made a SHO and a LRGB version back then. This time I decided to go for LRGB enhanced with Ha. I made an Ha enhanced R and Luminance channel and decided to try something new for this kind of data. I removed the stars in linear state, did the main parts of linear and non-linear processing without stars and added separately stretched stars back in quite late, with only a few tweaks left. Also I made a “standard” version with the stars in the RGB and luminance while combining. Comparing the two I like this version with stars removed early during processing much more as it turned out more natural and the interaction between the stars and the nebulosity is kept under control much more easily.
I haven’t found to many tutorials or descriptions of LHaRGB processing of Ha emission nebulae. If you can point me to a good one, please go ahead or share your own approach.
C&C welcome
