Description

LBN 292 is a diffuse, complex emission nebula  in the constellation Cygnus. Belongs to the luminous nebulae of Lynds, having a particular characteristic diffuse and irregular dark areas contrast with the intense bright areas.

There is very little (almost none) additional information on this member of the Lynds Bright Nebula list.  The data is from the AUS-2 CCD telescope from Telescope live.  I'm posting two versions, one derived from the Hubble SHO palette, the other from PixInsight's ForaxX_SHO script.

What I found interesting is the difference in detail between the two palettes, primarily in the less bright to dim features within LBN 292.  For example, the SHO version retains the dimmer dust cloud within the region of the nebula, while the ForaxX version tends to retain detail in some of the dimmer portions of the Nebula itself.

I could not find, aesthetically, any reason to prefer one over the other.  I also tried blending the two together.  While an interesting experiment, I didn't find the result to be an improvement over either of the source versions.

LBN-292, as a portion of the Cygnus 'cloud' lies within a dense star field.  There were no particular standout bright or large stars within the FoV, but there are some other objects that are revealed by Astrobin's plate solving.
