Description

This specific lens was my long lens go-to for most things photographic that required long focal length be it daytime or nightime, as some pictures of my gallery can testify. Coupled with more modern sensors it does lose some of its shine but it is still a respectable perfomer and still considerable lighter than most scopes with 75mm aperture. This said, the field correction is pretty uniform across the APS-C field width, showing a residual amount of high order coma (in this similar to other high ends lens I've tested). Colour correction is pretty good, with no hint of purple halos around the brighter stars. Note that the star burst on Polaris is due to my D610 mechanical aperture driver having an hiccup at the very wide end. The EXIF shows a relative aperture of f/4 but the actual diaphragm is just a smudge short of full aperture (74mm vs. 75mm). Now I have changed the handling in aperture priority to fully manual so that won't show again.
