Description

After struggling to capture the dim objects of the Leo Quadruplet (not Triplet, OK?), the RedCat began chasing a slightly bigger and brighter object, Messier 101. For much of the imaging time this target lay above the bright Seattle light dome. All I can say is that if you believe you can't shoot galaxies in areas of LP, you would be wrong. Although this is not the best image out there, I was pleasantly surprised by the detail and color of M101 and also the number of allied galaxies neighboring M101. Those allied galaxies, unfortunately come out as unattractive blobs (look at the bizarre NGC 5474 as an example), but I just fancy myself an explorer looking to see what's there, and not an expert imager. In that way, I won't be disappointed.

I hope you enjoy the image and thanks for stopping by and for any comments.
