Description

Whew, this is a tough target, over 2 nights I captured just under 14 hours, but I am not sure the 7 hours I captured the first night helped.  I had just upgraded to the new ASIAir Beta version and did noticed it changed my gain to 50 and for some reason my dithering did not work.  Plus the 1st night I took 3 and 5 minute exposures.  the 2nd night I increased my gain to 100, dithering worked, lowered my temp from -10 to -20 and I captured 10 minute exposures.  When I stacked my image, the 10 minute stacked images looked better than the 2 night combined stack, the combined stack actually had less detail.  So I ended up just layering the image from the first over my 2nd night image as a Lum layer.

Sh2-174 ranks as the most northern Sharpless objects at 81 degrees north.  There is not a lot of information about this Planetary nebula; although it was discovered fairly recently and identified as a Planetary nebula in the 1990s.
