Description

Comet C/2021 A1 Leonard. This is proving to be an excpetionally good comet....certainly the best I have imaged.
I chose this orientation as this is how we see it as it sets in the west here in Australia.
This was captured with my Canon EOS 5D mkII and the Hyperstar on the C14. It consists of a 2 panel mosaic of ~ 30 x 15 sec subs per panel. Processing proved to be quite tricky with the caring illumination level for each panel.
The Field of View is about 6 degrees x 2 degrees.
I think you’ll agree the intricacy of the comet’s tail is just extraordinary.
