Description

This interesting group is located midway between Arcturus (A Bootes) and Spica (A Virginis).  The main members of this group lie at a distance of 65 million light years from earth.  The group is anchored by 11th mag. NGC-5363 just left of top center. It is a type SO lenticular galaxy. Clockwise  is NGC-5356, a 13.4 magnitude edge-on spiral. Below it, to the SSE, is another edge-on, 13.3 mag. NGC-5360.  Just to the ENE is the large beautiful 11.2 mag. spiral, NGC-5364.  There are three faint background galaxies in the image.  South of NGC-5356 are a pair of 16.5-17 mag. small fuzzies, PGC-1279452 and PGC-1277985.   And, at the left edge of the image, forming a triangle with NGCs 5363 and 5364, is 15.2 mag. PGC-49602.
